Lib Dem leader Jo Swinson LOSES her East Dunbartonshire seat to SNP
Liberal Democrat leader Jo Swinson has lost her seat in East Dunbartonshire to Scottish National Party’s Amy Callaghan by 149 votes.

Ms Swinson, who became party leader earlier this year, has held the seat since 2015.
IPSOS Mori’s exit poll last night predicted Swinson’s loss.
Many people pointing out Ms Swinson’s stance on Brexit as the reason for not only her constituent loss but also the disappointing defeat for her party.
@DavidShoulder tweeted: “How dare she ignore the democratic vote of 17.4 million. Got everything she deserves.”
Despite the low number of seats the party won, a Lib Dem source remained positive.
“Every Lib Dem MP elected tonight will give the party a stronger hand to stop Brexit and resist the forces of nationalism,” they said.
“We will stand firm in our belief that the United Kingdom’s future is better if we remain in the European Union, as an outward-looking, internationalist country.”
A new Liberal Democrat leader will be announced in the coming weeks.
